Are You On A Budget? Cruising Can Be A Great Holiday Option

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

There was a time when a holiday aboard a cruise ship was the exclusive domain of the wealthy, the retired or those lucky enough to be on their honeymoon. However, it now has changed. Cruise holidays are available for all manner of holidaymakers, with many different types of cruises and different destinations - all offering something extra. A cruise holiday could be a great option even for those who are on a budget.

One of the things that makes cruise packages so appealing to holidaymakers these days is that practically everything is included. When you embark on a cruise you know that your accommodation in your luxury cabin, your fine meals and even your entertainment is all included as part of the package. This makes cruise packages excellent value for money, as well being a breathtaking way of spending a holiday.

There is also a wide choice of destinations when you book cruises aboard Cunard cruise ships. The best Cunard cruise deals include voyages to destinations as far as away as New Zealand and Australia, or a little closer to home in the Mediterranean.

On a cruise ship you will never be stuck for something to do, as the best ships are equipped with swimming pools, gymnasiums, dance halls and even casinos, theatres and cinemas.

After you have decided where you want to travel to, the next decision is to choose from where you want to embark. Southampton cruises are popular for a great many reasons, not least of all the history of the town itself.

When you sail from Southampton, your ideal cruise starts before you even board the ship due to the rich history and important heritage of Southampton. Southampton was the port from where many famous cruise liners made their maiden voyage, and Southampton was also the birthplace of the iconic Spitfire, which helped the British win the Second World War.

What To Pack For Your Cruise

Friday, August 20th, 2010

Do you need some help packing for a cruise? Packing for a normal vacation is easy but when you are packing for a cruise there are some ground rules that you will need to keep in mind.

Firstly, it’s not a good idea to pack lightly and think you will be able to buy the rest of the things you may need as and when you need them on board. You will find some of the things you need on board but they will most likely be very overpriced and and may not match your requirements one hundred percent.

Depending on what type of cruise you have booked will depend on what type of clothes you need to pack, is it formal, casual or a mix of both? On cruises formal typically means “semi-formal”. This little difference means that you don’t need to dust off your tuxedo and ball gown but instead just bring your favorite cocktail dress and suit. Dress how you would if you were attending a nice church wedding and you’ve got the idea. You can ask about casual meals, eat at different times to the other guests or order in room service if you have booked a formal cruise but don’t want to get dressed up.

The best things to pack are lightweight, wrinkle resistant clothes that can be worn numerous times during the cruise. For example, A good pair of dark jeans can be worn as casual of semi-formal the same goes for a light men’s blazer and a plain black shirt can be worn with different tops and jackets for different effects.

Many cruises have self-service laundry facilities on them so it is a good idea to plan to do your laundry at least once whilst on your cruise. This is an easy way to avoid over-packing on longer cruises. Another way to cut down on the amount of clothes you have to pack is by planning to wear any souvenir clothing the you plan on buying whilst on your cruise which will save space and remove the need to “make Room” for anything purchases. It is also a good idea to buy travel-size toiletries.

It is important to pack according to the destinations of your cruise ship and what season it is. On a tropical cruise, no matter what time of year it is, you will always need to pack light cotton clothing. If you are not sure what you should pack you can ask your cruise agent what they would recommend or you can do a little research into the area and find out what type of weather it gets at that time of year.

You shouldn’t pack your most expensive items as you will worry about them getting lost or stolen during your cruise. You can leave the most expensive stuff at home and pack cheaper substitutes to bring with you. Keep all the valuable items that you have to bring with you in your carry-on this includes: cell phones, cameras, medicine, identification and money.

Many cruises have restrictions on what you can and cannot bring on board so it is always good to check with your cruise agent about any restrictions.

The Best Timeshare Companies Are Not As Great As This!

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

When you’re on vacation, it’s easy to get caught up in the ease of life and the beauty of an exotic location. That’s why many travelers choose to purchase timeshares to ensure that they can return to their favorite vacation spot year after year. Some of the best timeshare companies offer pristine beaches, mountaintop retreats and exotic locales to tempt vacation goers.

Unfortunately, the one thing that even the best timeshare companies cannot offer is the option to choose a variety of getaway locations every year. When you buy into a timeshare, you become a partial owner in a condo or vacation home. This means that you will pay upfront for a piece of the property and will also pay annual fees in the form of membership charges and property tax. It also means that just as you can’t decide on a whim to abandon your year-round home, you also can’t abandon your time share property without finding someone to purchase your ownership stake.

Some families love to return to the same vacation spot every year, and for those types of families, a timeshare is a great alternative. But what if your family wants to jet off to a different location each year? Consider purchasing a vacation club rather than a timeshare to gain flexibility in your travel plans.

Vacation clubs function in a variety of ways. The easiest-to-use vacation clubs require just one up font payment. After the initial payment, you can just enjoy all of the club’s properties across the planet at a fantastic price. The key is that your family has complete freedom to choose different vacation destinations each and every year.

If your family is ready to discover the world, forget the best timeshare companies and consider looking at vacation clubs for a flexible vacation alternative.

Even the best timeshare companies, will not offer you the same flexibity, luxury and choice you get from a vacation club. So before taking that final decision to become a timeshare owner be sure to investigate vacation clubs.

Nile River Cruises: Read This Review Before Leaving

Monday, July 26th, 2010

Indeed, a trip to Egypt cannot be completed without a cruise down the longest river in the world. The Nile River Cruise is, in fact, an integral part of any tour package to Egypt. Cruising through various parts of Egypt, you can learn a lot more about this interesting culture. However, before you decide to opt for Nile River cruises, there are several points that you need to take into consideration. While there are indeed advantages of River Nile cruise holidays, there are also many drawbacks that you need to be prepared for.

What is the first advantage?

The primary benefit of all inclusive Nile cruises is that you get irresistible deals, if you book in advance. You can benefit from the “River Nile cruise and stay” option as well. These options are much cheaper than most of the offered packages, e.g. Luxor package holidays.

Well, what is the second interesting advantage?

The second advantage of these cruises is that it covers most of Egypt. Hence, you can easily get to watch the world famous pyramids, the sphinx, and many other places of attraction within a shorter span of time.

What is the third interesting advantage?

The third benefit is the excellent customer service you get to experience on the cruise ship. If you want to experience the best vacation and enjoy unparalleled customer service, then, opt for all inclusive Luxor holidays because you can get to travel on some of the cruise liners that are considered to be the best in class. With spa facilities, swimming pools, and other amenities, you will surely feel pampered.

What is the first drawback here?

Though Nile cruises is the fastest way to see most of Egypt, there are many disadvantages associated with it. First of all, River Nile cruise ships are on the slightly expensive side. Even the most decent ones will not be within the budget for many people. And the ones that cost less may not have some basic amenities like safety and security that people look for.

What is the second drawback here?

The second drawback is that most cruises down the Nile originate from Luxor. So, if you are in any other part of Egypt, you will still have to arrive there to start off on the liners. If you arrive early, you might have to book yourself into hotels, e.g. Hotel Nile Palace Luxor, for a decent stay. Even, if you take cheap flights to Luxor, it may prove to be an expensive affair for most.

What is the third disadvantage of Nile River cruises?

Some people feel that the Nile cruise from Luxor is too tiring since they are always on the move. This can be another disadvantage since your relaxed vacation may not be really relaxing. This is because you will have to end up covering all the attractions of this vast country in just 3 days to a week.

Are you still searching for Nile cruise holidays? Do you know that lacking the proper guide can destroy all your money? If your next holidays are Nile cruise holidays in Egypt, then I have good news for you. I did it before and uncovered here for FREE the entire killer guide at: Nile river cruises

Group Cruise Planning

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Organizing a group cruise for an organization may be a impressive way to build morale among employees and encourage employee retention. There are many advantages of cruise meetings in comparison to land situated venues that require the organization to plan meeting spaces, accommodations, travel, entertainment, and meals. With a group cruise, all of these things are included.

This makes cruise event planning uncomplicated and convenient. When contemplating a group cruise, the decision of how lengthy the cruise should be will predictably come up. Though many planners think that a 4 or 5 day cruise event is the top idea, planners may want to contemplate a 7 day cruise.

There are several reasons why a 7 day cruise will be more advantageous than a 4 or 5 day cruise. Cruises 7 days in length do not demand any extra time out of the workplace. Commonly, seven day cruise itineraries are from Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday. This means there will be no additional missed work days, and attendees will not have to be bothered about arriving home from the cruise on Thursday only to have to go to work on Friday. Longer itineraries are a greater motivation for employees to earn a spot on the incentive cruise. A 7 day group cruise certainly sounds more luxurious and relaxing than a 4 or 5 day cruise.

Cruises that last 7 days have a broader variety of ports-of-call and itineraries from which to choose. While 4 and 5 days cruises are limited to specific destinations, 7 day cruise destinations are unlimited. Those participating in the cruise meetings may select from destinations such as Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, and the Mexican Riviera. Longer itineraries also provide a better mix of business and pleasure. Companies can schedule meetings and breakout sessions in a manner that will not conflict with the ship’s time in port. Neither business nor pleasure has to be sacrificed with a 7 day cruise.

Another advantage to a 7 day cruise is having a better choice of ships on which to cruise. Sailing vessels designed for longer cruise destinations include premium and deluxe ships as well as yacht cruises. When group cruise planning, organizations will not want to rule out 7 day cruises. They can offer many advantages and may be just what the company needs.

Seasite.com makes it easy for incentive planners to source and plan a cruise event. They provide search tools that help you identify the best ship, meeting space grids that show you how the ship meets your needs, and other great planning resources.

Antarctic Visit Eased By Airline

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

As the jumbo jet flies a group of tourists over the magnetic South Pole on a one-day excursion, the compass needle wobbles and jumps irregularly. A far distance below the cozy flight, the sea of ice is carved into waves by strong, unforgiving winds rocketing to the coast. You can make out large patches of snow blowing before the gusts of wind, looking like clouds sailing over the glacial waves.

When a team of explorers finally reached the South Magnetic Pole in 1909 for the first time, they had spent 134 days slogging through deadly ice-covered passages. They had to travel 2,030 kilometers. Passengers on this flight reached the Magnetic South Pole four hours after having left,. They were able to enjoy a round trip flight that spent many hours over Antarctica.

The south pole is amazing, not just for it’s vast and barren wilderness but also for the scientific properties it holds due to it’s strong magnetic forces that can cause all sorts of interesting changes to instrumentation. It’s a gyroscope, as well as a satellite guidance equipment, that allows a jetliner to maintain it’s course. The actual South Pole, where many countries tried to lay claim to in the early 20th century, is around 2500 kilometers away from the locale where you will be visiting. There is a similarity between this jetliner’s passengers, and the well known American aviator, who in the 1920s, bragged that he flew the inaugural flight over the North and South Poles, and he never even had to stand up to reach his objective.

On the outside of the jetliner, the Antarctic winds blow fiercely around the craft. While inside the passengers enjoy the icy view while sipping wine in their vacation garb of T-shirts and shorts. All the passengers have been excitedly conversing since icebergs were first spotted just three hours from. Everyone wants to get a view from the windows to get a better look at the icebergs.

As they come closer they can see a jigsaw puzzle made up of jagged geometrical shaped icebergs as they near the coast of Antarctic, as if someone randomly dropped white mirror shards on to a blue-black background that is the sea. The tourists take turns pointing out amazing glacial formations, and taking video, snapping pictures, or silently marvel at the astounding beauty of glaciers sinking majestically into the ocean. White ice caps that appear to be painted with blue accents, as well as the massive Trans Antarctic Mountains, create another picturesque sight that leaves the passengers speechless.

While flight travel is not new to the Antarctic, it has not been until recently that interest has really made travel a viable and profitable experience. You should expect to see mountains, coastlines, bergs and wildlife as you make your way over the Antarctic. And you should also get a good view of one of the many different research bases that dot the area. It was geologists who were the first to reach the base, which is not too far from the South Magnetic Pole.

You can get resources on affordable antarctica tours by visiting this site. Further resources about antarctica holiday are located there.
