The Ideal While To Fly On Your Next Family Vacation

Monday, August 30th, 2010

One of the toughest things there is to do as a parent is to fly with toddlers in tow. Usually they remain quiet at the beginning of the day trip, excited about the flying experience. If you experience delays or hassles of your day, children can be a little crazy before the flight leaves the ground and trying to keep children under control so as not to disturb other passengers can be a daunting task.

Anyone who has flown with a baby realizes that some children can be soothed with a bottle or breastfeeding, but on a flight when their small ears pop, like many feel they are being attacked and moan for Most flights. A child screaming against the glare of angry passengers whose flights are disrupted can be a tough fight, especially for a new mom and sometimes there’s just nothing you can do to keep a baby quiet.

Toddlers and younger children can usually be appeased during shorter flights but on a long flight a parent can really struggle to provide enough stimulation for them while they are sitting in the seat and many times even children in this age range become whiny and even throw a temper tantrum. It can be a difficult time for children and their parents.

Many parents who have the luxury of renting a private jet is only truly bring peace to their power to let their children are just children. The freedom to turn your favorite movie or their favorite board games can really help to relieve tension. Parents find it very liberating not having to worry about other passengers on board and this allows them to begin to enjoy your vacation a bit earlier than expected. As a matter of fact that it really brings peace to a family holiday.

When traveling with children there is no better way to fly to your destination, then a private jet. It is the best way to fly without having to worry about keeping children quiet and under control for hours. And with a private jet charter can even choose to fly at night on a flight that has a seating area. Then everyone can sleep on the flight and arrive at your destination ready to have fun.

Monday, August 16th, 2010

In a short flight there is no need to worry about entertainment. If you are in the air for an hour or two taking a nap or reading would pass the time rather nicely. If you are taking a longer flight, especially with children, you better think about things they can use to keep them entertained during the flight.

Private jet charters can offer you many things that can keep yourself and the kids entertained on those longer flights. Most offer in flight movies of your choice as well as CD, VCR, and DVD players so you can choose what you want to see and listen to on your flight. Surround sound systems and large screen televisions can provide hours of entertainment for the little ones especially when you are in control of what you movies and music you have available. Make a special request or bring some of your favorites aboard. Either way you know that everyone will remain entertained throughout the flight.

You are able to pre-order a newspaper and magazines to be on board since catering to their needs is what private jet companies are all about. Fresh flowers are also available upon request to help clean the air, surprise a special guest, or give the surroundings a more home like feel.

If you are traveling without kids you may want to entertain the passengers themselves and others with a massage, manicure, pedicure or even a barber or cosmetologist to help improve the way you look and feel before landing at your destination. This can be very relaxing and can help soothe the nerves of reluctant travelers, plus it is a good way to kill time air.

Air Cargo Charter By A Ford Motor Company Broker In UK

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

An aunt of mine who dwells in Botswana flies in at some point each year lugging a huge amount of baggage for the manufacturing company that my uncle runs. I’m not as much bothered by what my aunt flies in with that entire luggage as I am interested in how she brings it all in - through charter by air cargo, and that with Ford Motor Company. Save for soccer, I could personally hardly find much else that Africans are good at other than commercial and industry giants Ghana and South Africa. I wonder if Ford really operates out of small country Botswana, and why.

Mail and/or freight carried by air shipments constitute air cargo. Government mail contracts were the airlines’ primary source of revenue in the late 1920s and early 1930s in the United States. Airplanes at the time also helped to see to the commute of freight in the region around Great Lakes, where the assembly plants for automobiles connected by the Ford Motor Company.

Ford Motor Company is the American multinational corporation and world’s fifth largest automaker based in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, which was founded by Henry Ford and incorporated on June 16, 1903.

Air cargo charter has these days also been added to the auto producing functions of the company. There are few regions of the world in which the presence of Ford is not felt and their services are not rendered, but even if you found yourself in that part of the world and you needed to move a lot of goods, all you need to do is go online to find the nearest location where they function to your own position. Once you are connected with them, you can take measures to have your stuff moves to your desired destination in record time.

And should you have trouble getting in touch, just go online company’s internet website and get the address of a competent Ford Motor Company air cargo charter broker nearest to you, and you can have them make arrangements on your behalf to move your cargo from the UK to anywhere in the world, and form anywhere in the world to the UK. The good thing about the brokers is that they are just about everywhere you may need them, so that there is sure to be one not very far from wherever you are.

There is also the added possibility that what you know of air cargo charter isn’t entirely accurate, especially since it is not as expensive as most people fear that it is. Go to the internet and check on the rates offered by the company, or inquire from a broker, and you might find yourself stumped by how affordable the prices are even for you. That aside, you are about to move a lot of goods from one location to another - think of the benefits to you, and you know that whatever fee the company has you pay to move your cargo to the UK on your behalf may very well be worth it.

Fractional Ownership Plans For Private Jet Charters

Friday, July 30th, 2010

We can’t all afford the lavish private jet with a mini bar and water bed in it. The good news is that you might be surprised if you may or not, thanks to the fractional ownership style of private jet purchases. It’s less money upfront, and a fully functional jet is still at one’s fingertips.

A company that specializes in fractional jet ownership will also go through the means of outlining what kind of schedule the private jet will follow. If the company offers the option of mediating between needs and wants of other investors in the group, be sure to take them up on the offer. It’s nice to have a third party mediation facility if any disputes over the jet are brought forth by others.

Perhaps traveling via jet isn’t a long term solution for you: that’s fine too! There are plans in action that allow buyers to liquidate their share in a jet in order to get their invested money back into capital. Liquidating your stake in the jet will mean you will get a fair market value at the present time period- so you may actually get less than you have put into the operation.

A managed private jet charter service will also setup a way to get a jet charter when the jet you paid for is tied up. When dividing the ownership between as many as ten people or more, you will likely have to find an alternate solution for emergencies. Ask your private jet charter service what they can offer for emergency flights.

Fees are still in need of being paid, just like they would if you owned the jet yourself. This would include staffing fees, fuel, and maintenance fees. The upside here is that you are splitting the costs with others. The downside is that you still have to outline a portion of your budget to the act of paying these fees. Consult the private jet charter about any and all fees before signing- you want to know what you are getting into.

The proof of a good service is in the pudding. Ask to see testimonials from real customers, and references if you feel to press the matter further. Call up on some references and see what kind of experience or advice the person would give if they had to do it all over again. You can learn some valuable tips, or even find something out that the private jet charter didn’t clue you in on at the meeting.

Final Thoughts

Private jet ownership schemes are the perfect solution to a problem where budgets are concerned. Private jets are much too expensive for the average Joe to rent one out, but thanks to modern ownership methods, almost anyone can get a piece of the pie.

Information On Air Canada

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Air Canada began as Trans-Canada Airlines, in Sep,’37. The first flight of Air Canada was on a Lockheed L-10A, from Vancouver to Seattle, carrying mail and only two passengers. It was a mere 50 minutes flight. The airline developed fast, and by’64, Trans-Canada Airlines became Canada’s national airline. At that time, it was renamed as Air Canada. The airline became private in the year’89. Air Canada also acquired the Canadian Airlines International, around the same time.

Air Canada is 70 years old today and is Canada’s largest passenger service airline. It transports about 32 million passengers annually to 170 destinations across the five continents. The airline also ranks number– amongst the airlines across the globe.

Air Canada believes that travel should be convenient for its customers and therefore it is the only airline that offer flight passes. Flight passes allow the passenger to manage their travel online. These flight passes can be obtained either in the form of pre-purchased flight credits or a monthly subscription that provides you with unlimited flights in certain sectors.

Air Canada is indeed one of the world’s best airlines. This is the feedback provided from, none other than the customers of Air Canada themselves. The airline was awarded with the title of the ‘Best Airline in North America’, after a survey carried out, from August 2006 and June 2007. It also received the Airline Industry Achievement Award in 2007, for being a leader amongst all airlines. Air Canada has many ‘Best Airline in Canada and North America’ titles in its kitty, ranked by the readers of diverse travel magazines.

Along with keeping their customers happy and satisfied, Air Canada also works hard to do their part in keeping the environment preserved. The airline has already been spending billions on this process. It is also investing in new aircrafts, which are energy efficient. Air Canada has also brought reduction by 28%, in the emission amount of their flights. By 2020, they also aspire to improve their fuel efficiency, by 25%.

Following the green initiative, the airline has also launched several green programs in-house, and many recycling programs, on board. They have formed a team with an attention-grabbing program, called the ‘zerofootprint’. Through this program, the passengers are allowed to voluntarily equalize the carbon emissions from the flights, taken by them, by being involved in the reforestation program in the country.

Although Air Canada is one of the world’s largest airlines, it still needs the help of other airlines to provide its passengers with a suitably extensive network of destinations.

Becoming A Private Pilot

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

Getting Your Private Pilot License - It’s easier than you think

If one wants to learn to fly for personal leisure, one can apply for a private pilot’s license or what is also known as a Private Pilot Certificate. PPL holders can fly almost where ever they please but may not fly commercially (for compensation or hire). They are basically restricted to personal flights with friends and family.

How To Get Your Certificate

Knowing where to start is crucial to new pilots. That’s the reason I wrote the now famous “private pilot blueprint” because choosing where to fly and how to start can be so difficult. You can find a free copy of the blueprint on my website MzeroA.

How Old Must You Be?

Student pilots can start flying at any age. However you must be 16 on your day of solo and 17 to get you certificate.

Language Proficiency

Believe it or not English is actually the required language in aviation. Pilots and controllers must be able to read, write, and speak English. Regardless of where you travel in the world you know that someone will be speaking English.

Flight Hour Requirements

Private Pilot applicants are required to have at least 40 total flight hours before they can take their final test. The Private Pilot Checkride

Within those 40 hours student pilots must complete several tasks such as solo flights, night flights, and cross country flights. It’s important to know that these are just a few of many tasks that need to be completed. Also note that 40 hours is just the bare minimum. Most pilots finish in the 50 to 60 hour range.

Alitalia Airlines After Bankruptcy

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

Headquartered in Rome, the eternal city, Alitalia is the nineteenth largest airline in the world, with its main hub at Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport. Alitalia serves 66 international and 24 domestic destinations, its top 12 flights all originating from Rome. Alitalia offers a frequent flier program MileMiglia, qualifying fliers for all the benefits of the Sky Team Alliance. Members of MileMiglia can earn miles on flights on Alitalia or any of its thirteen Sky Team partners, including Air France, Delta, Northwest, Aeroflot, Korean Airlines, Czech Airlines, and more.

The very first Alitalia flight took place just a year after the end of World War II, in’46, originating in Turin and arriving in Rome via Catania. The carrier’s first international flight was in’47, taking passengers from Milan to South America. Alitalia’s present fleet primarily consists of Boeing and Airbus aircraft, as the company makes strategic changes to expand its international presence after bankruptcy and merger.

Alitalia Airlines has struggled financially for decades, with numerous takeover and merger attempts occurring in recent years. Its financial difficulties can be tied to problems with pilots and crew members, labor issues and government interference. Alitalia Airlines has only recorded one profitable year,’98, since it was founded over 60 years ago. The Italian government stopped investing money into the airline in 2006 on the orders of the European Union. The airline went bankrupt in 2008. Alitalia Airlines became a private company in January 2009 when Air France-KLM bought a 25 percent stake in the airline, and the Italian government agreed to lower its stake in the airline.

The ?new? Alitalia Airlines merged with Air One, which operates a high-frequency scheduled network to 36 destinations in Italy, Europe and North America. Air One?s main hubs are located in Rome, Milan and Turin. The airlines are partnered under a consortium called Compagnia Aerea Italiana (CAI), which finalized its purchase of the two airlines in December 2008.

Prime Minister Berlusconi had called for the formation of the consortium, which derives its investment capital from wealthy Italian entrepreneurs and banks. The consortium assumed Alitalia’s debts, which led to public questions as to how much the Alitalia sale was subsidized by taxpayers. The new company was formed with a capital of 1 billion euro, and promised a five-year plan to bring the new airline to profitability by 2010. Over 12,000 workers of the “old” Alitalia kept their jobs in the merger, but another 3,250 jobs were eliminated.

Alitalia officials anticipate that the 25 per cent minority stake held by Air France-KLM will help the new company to achieve its goals of profitability and expanded presence in the international market. The new partnership is a good deal for the flying public, as the chances to earn and spend frequent flier miles through MileMiglia are greatly expanded.

Alitalia continues to provide charters for a well-known jet nicknamed “Shepherd One,” used by the Holy Father whenever he leaves the Vatican on flights around the world. The new consortium is expected to continue to provide Shepherd One.

Reasons To Plan Your Airport Parking In Advance

Saturday, June 19th, 2010

Most people have gone to the airport to pick up a friend or family member at one time or another, or have traveled themselves. You don’t even have to be the one driving to realize that finding good airport parking spaces can be difficult at times. You are competing with hundreds of other people to find the closest, most convenient space to where you’re going, which, by some strange airport law of nature, usually turns out to be the exact same place that everyone else is going. When you do finally find a space, more often than not, it’s in some remote area of lot that you need a flashlight to find.

Airports normally divide their parking facilities into short and long-term parking areas. Short-term parking areas generally restrict the number of hours that people are permitted to leave their cars in the lot. They are mainly intended for the use of same-day travelers and people picking up or dropping someone else off. Competition for available spaces can sometimes be fierce. The price can also be quite high, causing many drivers to seek alternatives. The end result is that they sometimes drive around the airport in continuous loops, while waiting for their friend or family members’ plane to arrive, or decide to park in restricted areas.

To alleviate these types of problems, many airports have implemented options such as free cell-phone parking lots, economy parking lots, and quick shuttle links to other off-site parking areas.

People who are planning on leaving their cars parked in the lot for longer periods will need to use the long-term parking facilities. Before dropping your car off, it is a good idea to compare the parking facilities available at the airport with other, off-site, lots. You will want to ensure not only that your car is secure, but also that you are paying a reasonable rate. Reservations are not usually required for stays under a couple of weeks in length, but it is always better to reserve your spot in advance. Stays exceeding several weeks normally do require reservations. You should always advise car park personnel how long you expect to be gone, so that they will not mistakenly assume that your car has been abandoned.

Privately run, off-site parking lots can be an excellent alternative to parking directly at the airport. These types of parking lots often provide their customers with competitively priced parking in secure, well-lit, fenced in lots. Shuttles are also provided to and from the airport. The customer usually has the choice between between valet service and parking their cars themselves. Additional services, such as car cleaning and interior shampooing are sometimes available at an extra charge. Most private lots offer both long and short-term parking.

The key to successful airport parking lies in knowing what your options are. If you take the time to find out what is available before you leave for the airport, you can ensure a smooth start to your trip.

When you leave your vehicle in an airport parking lot, you want to be certain that the car will be available when you return. Secure airport parking is an important service provided by modern and progressive airport facilities.

Continental Airlines

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Based in Houston, Texas, Continental Airlines has hubs at Houston Intercontinental near Houston, Texas, at Newark, New Jersey, and at Cleveland, Ohio. Continental is the fourth largest airline in the USA, flying to destinations in North America, Mexico, Central and South America, Europe, Australia, Micronesia, and Australia. This airline offers over 6,000 departures every day to hundreds of domestic and international destinations, and employees nearly 83,000 workers.

Continental, along with Northwest, Delta, Aeromexico, Air France, KLM, and Alitalia, is currently a member of the SkyTeam alliance. In October, 2009, however, Continental will discontinue its membership in SkyTeam to join the Star Alliance. Membership in Star Alliance will allow Continental to cooperate more closely with United, with which it has been in merger discussions since 2006. Coordinating with Star Alliance, however, is currently a higher priority for Continental than merging with United.

Continental’s frequent flyer program is called OnePass. Members earn miles on all Continental flights as well as flights on Copa, Aero Republica, and SkyTeam members. OnePass members can also earn miles on America’s rail carrier, Amtrak. All members of SkyTeam programs (Star Alliance programs after October 2009) can both earn and use frequent flyer miles on Continental.

The airline was founded in’31 as Varney Speed Lines, its name changed to Continental Airlines in’37. The airline was originally based in El Paso, Texas and offered service to Colorado, New Mexico, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Many modern flyers do not know that at one time, the only class was first class?and ticket prices were always high. Continental pioneered the lower fare movement, introducing coach class fares in’62. Continental has been flying to Europe since’85.

Continental Airlines was also the first American airline to hire an African-American pilot, in’63, as well as the first U.S. carrier successfully to fly through bankruptcy.

The company recently announced another first with the demonstration of the biofuel-powered flight by any commercial airline in the U.S. The fuel was a special blend extracted from algae and jatrophra seeds. The company intends to continue working with biofuels, as part of a comprehensive effort to reduce air travel’s environmental footprint. Continental offers its passengers the opportunity to buy carbon offsets, the money used to replant deforested areas, for just two dollars per ticket. The US Environmental Protection Agency has recognized Continental for its continuing efforts at green transportation.

Every Continental jet was built by Boeing, whether 737, 757, 767, and 777. The airline plans to add the Boeing Dreamliner 787 to its fleet before 2012. Continental’s exclusive agreement with Boeing dates from’90, although the European Union ruled that the contract was void when Boeing acquired its rival McDonnell Douglas in’97. For all practical purposes, however, the exclusive relationship between Continental and Boeing has continued.

Continental has struggled financially over the past few years, like most United States airlines. The airline reported losing millions of dollars in 2008 due to increased fuel costs and airline pilot retirement expenses.
